International Travel Experience

The most exciting part of the TGC Fellowship is the opportunity to travel internationally to learn from and work with teachers abroad. I was very excited to be placed in India, a country whose history I have taught about for many years but have never visited.

The two and a half week program began with a three day orientation in Bangalore, facilitated by an impressive teacher training organization called the Teacher Foundation, where we sat in talks and visited several schools to learn some of the basics of the many aspects to India's diverse education system. We were then sent to various towns and cities in pairs to work with host teachers, observing and co-teaching in their schools. We then reconviened in Delhi for more school visits, a trip to Agra, and a final debrief session.
