This is a short video introduction to the unit I developed on West African Cultural elements that were retained in Haiti that served as part of the research my students did on the historical context for the Haitian Revolution.

 

Course: Global History/"What Makes a Revolution?"

(Grades 9, 10, 11)

As part of the TGC program, fellows took part in an eight week on-line course focused on various ways to 'globalize' education. We were asked to develop unit plans using the Understanding by Design framework that worked to help students develop various global competencies which were emphasized throughout the course.
